Answered my own question.... "Transaction" Search, Use Criteria "Account" to pick the account, then use criteria "Date before" whatever date in question. For "Results", show "Account" (Grouped) and "Amount" (Sum)

mkachline: That is one option, but as you get more data, that type of search will run really slow since you have to bring in every transaction from the beginning of time. I would recommend running the canned Trial Balance Report (Reports>Financial>Trial Balance). To run it by date instead of period, you'll have to change your Report by Period User Preference (Home>Set Preferences>Analytics tab) to Never.
