04/07/2022, 2:08 AMit seems that Slack threads are mapped to Discord replies. And due to a limitation with Discord webhooks, the reply can't impersonate the user (it will appear to be from a bot instead, see here)

04/07/2022, 7:08 PMYes all synced messages must come from a bot because you cannot guarantee that every user of slack has an account in discord as well. The bot message includes the persons name though
