I have an item search and I need a column that shows how much of this quantity is on transactions. Is this possible from an item search, or does it need to be re-written as a transaction searcH?

It can be done either way. However it would be easiest to do on inventory balance search.

Go to the bottom of the field list and select Transaction Fields….. Then select quantity
