I need to send emails to a particular employee when items are created in NS. I'm doing this using an item saved search. Is there a way to set the criteria where it won't send the email if the employee himself creates an item? Is this even necessary?

i dont think a saved search will give you that flexibility. you may have to send that email in a workflow or script
