Does anyone have any experience with Vertex?

Curious to know this as well and if any has gone from Avalara to Vertex in Netsuite.

I've swapped a NetSuite Account from Avalara to Vertex. Do you have any specific questions?

So we went from having nothing (no SuiteTax, Avalara, etc.) to Vertex and in doing so we needed to enable SuiteTax We are seeing two issues: 1 - It appears that SuiteTax is still calculating tax on top of Vertex. So transactions where no tax should be calculated it still is. Wonder if there is a switch we need to flip somewhere. 2 - And maybe this is another SuiteTax issue but we are getting an error message when trying to create CMs through a script that we need to click the "Preview Tax" button everytime.

There should have been a tax item created called Avalara or Avatax. Is that set by default on these records?

We are using Vertex, not Avalara

same idea though, you need to make sure netuite's tax amount is 0. Sounds like whatever tax item you are using has a % so you're getting that.

Vertex still generates a Tax %. I ran into this issue. There is a checkbox field that is like Do Not Call Vertex. With any tax item Vertex will populate a tax rate even going so far as ensuring all taxable checkboxes are marked... Well any tax item except the Not Taxable tax item. Vertex is aggressive script wise. The preview tax message I never worked on so I am of little help there. They do have a documentation/help center that you can access if you have a login to their site that may give you some clues though.
