Since there is literally no activity in the taxes thread, has anyone used SuiteTax? We are looking at switching from Avalara since we only file in 5 states & not adding many more.
k
I have. Wasn't a fan
k
What part
Looking at $25,000+ contract with Avalara.

If you are on legacy tax, switching over is a nightmare. There are some hefty limitations that it can't support, like line level ship to. Can't csv import tax exemptions for customers Poor performance impacts on customers and vendors Scripts have to run on POs and bills even though it doesn't support use tax yet
k
What are you currently using?
k
The client that did that is using it, but switching over to CCH which has the same framework issues like not being able to do line level ship to addresses. It is a very permanent decision to make that change
k
What would you recommend?
k
Stick with legacy tax if you can convince cch or one source to use it, they might be cheaper than avalara but I wouldn't count on it
Especially once you figure out costs to switch
But I would take some serious convincing to switch to native suite tax through NetSuite after that experience
