I have a user that doesn't have NetSuite access anymore (but still at my company) who keeps getting emails from NetSuite, and I have searched high and low for a saved search that is firing this email with no success, so I've got to think that it's an alert they signed up for. Is there a way to see what email alerts other users have signed up for? Do they remain after a user loses their login? Any other ideas/advice on what might be firing the email? It looks like just a standard single record result from a saved search.

Ask them to provide you with the email headers. The X-MailingID header will show the action which triggered the email and/or saved search ID.
You can also do a Saved Search, Saved Search with SearchSchedule : Recipient criteria set to their user.
j
Yeah I did that: no dice.
Gonna ask for the message header and see if that gets me anything. Haven't done/tried that before.
It's sort of almost not worth chasing, but I've already invested so much time that now I feel committed 🤪

Should look something like this, where the search value is the saved search internal ID. X-MailingID: scompid=ACCOUNTID; search=3846; action=scheduled; attachment=none
j
hmmm...seem no dice on the header thing either. Closest thing I see to that is: smtp.mailfrom=sent-via.netsuite.com; dkim=fail (signature did not verify) header.d=sent-via.netsuite.com;dmarc=fail action=oreject header.from=sent-via.netsuite.com;compauth=none reason=452 but that doesn't look like what you're talking about either. Truly I'm like 99.5% confident that this is NOT a saved search, but some other method of alerting that (like the user alerts) that's just utilizing a saved search as the backbone/tool.

If they appear in the sent email list, there may be clues there - or you can capture the MESSAGE-ID and ask support for help
r
what type of content is in the email? it could be a scheduled report, workflow or script that is sending it.
j
It's an alert for when employee records get changed (or maybe created).
r
have you checked workflows?
j
briefly, and didn't see anything that stuck out
not sure if there is a way to do it more comprehensively
r
have you looked at the Sent Email page to see if there are any indicators there? As a final straw, I would change their email address to yours so you can see when they come in and maybe that instant look will help you find it.
k
Can you just change the employee email?
I mean, if they don't have access anymore...
j
They're still employed by my company, they're just in a different role that doesn't need NetSuite access anymore (and we need the license seats). So changing the email is out. Because they maybe will get emails from NetSuite for legitimate things. The final resort (which I'm rapidly approaching 😁) would be to just have him filter out the emails on his side.

I would only continue down the path of finding it if they user is receiving confidential information. One final thought, give the user access back and login as that person to see if they have any alerts set under Set Preferences.
