A colleague showed me a different way to use Searches. Using a URL like
####.<http://app.netsuite.com/app/common/search/*search.nl*?id=####&*e=T*|app.netsuite.com/app/common/search/*search.nl*?id=####&*e=T*>
brings up a page where the user can set the different Available Filters added on the search setup and then Submit the search to see the results. I did not know this was a thing until recently. I'm trying to find more info about how Searches work this way. Does anyone know what this is called or where/how I can find more info about this?

Those are the available filters on the search, not the actual criteria.
They act as additional criteria when submitting the search - but the basic search criteria and results are defined by the search - you're using it as the search form.

So based on the image I shared, you would call that the Search Form?

Yes
