Can I give Sandbox access to specific users? It looks like it's either All Users or only Admins. But maybe I've over looking something?
w
All users mean all that hace access in prod. You can choose only admin and then give access to those that you want manually/import
e
Where can I give them access to the sandbox manually?
m
To add to @Watz. This means after refresh, I think. So after refresh do you want everybody, or only admins to have access. You can give sandbox access to anybody, including users that don't exist in Prod. Example is giving a developer access to only sandbox

Example is giving a developer access to only sandbox ^This is what I'm looking to do

@ericbirdsall Just create an employee record for the person in question in sandbox and give them access using the access subtab
on the employee record. In sandbox only
Does that make sense?
e
Ahhhhh. That makes sense. I was looking on Production Employee records for a "Give Sandbox Access" option

Yep, makes perfect sense. Thank you both @MySuite @Watz

And if I want to give SB access to an existing employee, I can open their employee record in SB, check "Give Access" and then they can log in with their PROD login information, and they will have the option of switching back and forth between PROD and SB? Or do they need a separate password for SB?
w
Same password

Hi @ericbirdsall They will be able to switch back and forth. There will be prod roles and sandbox roles. Switching will generally log you out of open tabs, but there are tricks to be logged into both. If you log into Prod and open a couple of tabs in your browser within prod, you can switch to sandbox in one tab. The other tabs will be logged out. If you stay logged into sandbox and switch back to an open prod tab, you can re-enter your login information and you should be logged back into prod without logging out of sandbox.
@ericbirdsall - A couple of tips that I use. I always change my personal preferences to update my color theme for sandbox. I usually set Prod to a reddish color, and sandbox to bluish. Red to me means STOP, you are in production do you really want to make this change here? I also run prod in chrome and sandbox in another browser like Edge or Firefox usually. That way it is really clear to me which environment I am in. I know it says "SANDBOX" at the top of SB accounts, but you would be surprised how easy that is to ignore. I have seen users (and been guilty of this myself), do a bunch of "work" in sandbox before realizing they are in the wrong environment.

After a refresh though, sandbox will revert to whatever color theme you have in prod, so it is something I have to update after every refresh

All good tips @MySuite. I do something similar with my SB account as far as theme goes to visually remind me that Im in SB and not prod.
