I have a vendor - let's say it's "John Smith Parts" In the global search, I type "ven:John" and it shows no results found As I continue to add to the query, it shows no results found until I have entered "ven:John Smith Pa" At this point, it shows the result. However, if I type "ven:ama", my "Amazon.com" vendor shows... Any idea why the global search wouldn't pick up the first vendor until I've typed 90% of their name?

Check and see if one vendor is an "individual" and the other is a "company". Also, the search might not be picking up the term until "Parts" depending on how the vendor is named in the record. I bet if you were to compare the 2 vendors you mentioned, you would seem some differences like that in their account.

I have found that spaces seem to effect the global search results. Not sure why but spaces sometimes mess with what’s returned I’ve gotten in the habit of putting % in front of almost anything to avoid this
