I am trying to delete a lotnumberedassemblyitem that used to be a component of another lotnumberedassemblyitem and I keep getting dependency errors. When I try to delete it from the UI I get a dependency error of "It is the tax code on a tax group." and under that it lists the old parent item it used to be a component of. Clicking the item link takes me to a record no longer exists page. Anyone run into this one before?
m
Could you simply inactivate it so you can keep record history?
t
We're switching item types for a new initiative so there is no history associated to the items. It's now just 1300 item records that are... there. Its more I want to understand what this dependency is since I can't find a way to remove it.
m
The dependencies are important historical information. If you will never use the sku number again, then inactivate it. If it’s a matrix item, inactivate parent and apply that change to the children.
t
There is no historical information. This is a new product idea we were trying out. There are no transactions/etc tied to them, just this oddball tax group. The parent they belonged has already been deleted.
m
Clicking the item link takes me to a record no longer exists page…… Is that item inactive? Maybe that’s why it comes up. Have you tried unattaching the component item from the assembly?
t
The component item was detached from the assembly, the assembly was deleted which is why the link takes me to a record no longer exists page, but obviously somewhere in a tax record somewhere it does think the item still exists but there was never a transaction created involving the item or component
I'm just trying to figure out where this ghost dependency lives because it makes no sense
m
You might save some time and headache by just inactivating it.
t
Yes, I can, but my goal is to understand what is going on and support hasn't supplied an answer yet
m
I suppose if that’s the error message, then looking at the tax groups might be a start to investigating. Can you post the error message?
t
message has been deleted
m
Your image is blank
t
let me try it as a file
m
Oh. OK. So Can you find “Deta End Table-CYP_Clear-Clear in the tax codes in Setup >> Accounting >> Tax Codes? That message also says that tax code is pat of a tax group.
t
No
Only tax codes/groups are for the tax regions in the state
I can't find any attachment to any sort of product for any of the taxes. The assembly and component were both marked non-taxable as well
m
I think I’ve run out of ideas.
t
It's not an easy one
m
When you hover on the link, what is the link?
What is the uRL?
Copy the link
t
It tries to go to a taxgroup but the internal id for the group does not exist
I've manually run through internalids in suitescript and can't find anything for it either
Only thing I can think of is there's a sublist or other type of record somewhere tying these products to a non-existent tax group that doesn't get cleaned up when a product is deleted but I can't find those records
m
That’s tricky…..
