FAM - fixed asset management posting to incorrect department for a few months, how can I correct it so that it posts to the correct department going forward?

Do asset transfer. It’s Fixed assets> transactions > asset transfer

thanks @sam1128, so to confirm, if we have an asset created against one department and made that inactive, and now want it to post against the new department, doing an asset transfer allows to amend this? do you have to provide the old/inactive department as well?
