I am sure we are not the only company dealing with supply chain issues right now with shortages and shipping issues everywhere. We want to be able to track the backorders but want to keep them from automatically moving to the fulfillment queue when inventory comes in as we want the sales team to follow up with the customer first. Curious if anyone else has a solution or process in place to handle this. TIA for any suggestions.

You might look at the "Default Commit Option on Sales Order" setting in Accounting Preferences > Order Management. You could set that to "Do Not Commit" and it would not commit inventory to a sales order until you committed it either through script or some other process.

Supply Allocation feature is something many clients are looking at lately... and recommended
