Hi guys, is there anyone experienced with US sale taxes in Netsuite? Netsuite in general calculates US taxes only based on ZIP code and only if "_per line tax calculation_" is not enabled. In the case if "per line calculation" is enabled, the automatic defaulting is not working at all.... We have our ecom platform integrated with NS. Ecom platform is integrated with Avatax from Avalara. So, for these orders we are getting the correct tax rates and amounts directly from the ecom platform. However, how do you do it then with e.g. B2B orders or any other orders created manually in Netsuite? The sales taxes are wrong and If per line tax is enabled > NS tax engine does not even populate anything. Do US customers purchase right away with NS also integration with Avalara to get correct sales taxes per items? -Thank you in advance.

I'd personally rely on Avalara all the way through.
You'll run into fun limitations trying to only take the ecom values and pass them on to NetSuite - and NetSuite and avalara are likely to disagree on taxes in many cases.
If you rely on Avalara all the way through - then you'll get the same tax calculation in both places.

Hi @KevinJ of Kansas - thank you for your reply. So, it is like that indeed that eventhough Netsuite is an US product, customers are also always purchasing Avalara integration with NS to get correct tax calculations in NS? Pretty sad tbh 🤦🏻‍♀️

That's not what I was saying.
You are using Avalara - which is point address specific.
Where as NetSuite is going to do zip code level.
Which means - Avalara and NS aren't going to agree.
that's not "All customers are purchasing avalara to do taxes"
But if you already have avalara and are using it - just buy the integration and hook it into NS.
You've probably got something misconfigured then.
