is there a way to send an email to customers when we create a payment? I know we can do a workflow/script but im wondering if there is a native netsuite feature that does that

Nothing on this will be native. If you need real time payment notifcations you will need to run a workflow that executes a send email action upon save. If you do not need real time payments, you can create a daily saved search that will search for executed payments within that day and email the customer that way. The downside to this is that it isn't real time email distribution
