hi all. Just curious to know how everyone manages duplicate customers across multiple subsidiaries. At the moment i have 'customer XYZ' that im selling from Subsidiary A and Subsidiary B so i have 2 separate customer Records setup for customer XYZ. Would prefer to have a way to relate the customer across the subsidiaries so i dont have to report on them individually. I was thinking about creating a List Record for each customer that this applies to and assigning it on the customer record but its not the greatest since any that dont have related customers would just be a blank field. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I normally do a workflow for this that uses list/customer - and if it's blank populate current internal ID in the field - if not do nothing. Then the user can set it however they like and it wont' get overwritten and I've still got my aggregated reporting field with a decent value in it.
Also - I presume you've looked at multisubsidiary customers (and their limitations) and decided against using them, but in case you haven't, it could be worth a look.
Just look at the known limitations and make sure it won't break your existing processes.
(consolidated payments is a big one)

I figured the best route for the blank values would be to workflow a copy of the current company name. I did not know there was an option for multisubsidiary customers though. i was searching all through suite answers and failed to find this but i will keep looking. It sounds like a great option but i will definitely review the limitations beforehand. May just be simpler to go with the list route. Really appreciate the info @KevinJ of Kansas
