I attempted to make a saved user note search for the sales manager to see user notes on all the sales rep's customers (or in fact all records) but it doesn't work unless you are administrator. if you are not admin, all you can see are ones you created yourself. is there any permissions i need to modify to fix this?

Would the 'Run Unrestricted' field on the saved search get you out of trouble?

Is it set to public? I find it's a really easy tick box to miss, made loads of searches that people couldn't see!

well this is interesting. I found the info my sales manager needs is under Reports/Pipeline Analysis/Sales Activity by Sales Rep

and that one does not have this permissions issue. works fine for authorised users. looks like I was asking the wrong question before. classic XY problem
