I've got a question related to shipping using integrated shipping with NetSuite. 1. What's the best way to capture the negotiated rate of an order when you don't want to always charge for shipping but want to analyze profitability of transactions? a. We have the "Charge for shipping box" checked, but many orders come through with "free shipping" and we'd like to analyze our margins b. The goal is that even though the shipping cost box is 0 (because we don't pass along the cost to our customers all the time) we still want to capture the cost to ship the order I can't find any way to leverage the existing integrated shipping feature to do this, which is not surprising. I thought about looking at it from a fulfillment perspective to see if I could look up a negotiated rate once I have a tracking number (in the case of multiple fulfillments per order) but UPS doesn't appear to allow this. UPS says the only way to get rates is using the Rating API. With that in mind, is my only option to essentially recalculate the the shipping charge using the Rating API and store that to a custom field? I know it won't be 100% because of possible surcharges after the fact, but it should be close, which is the important part. We also won't be paying for PaceJet or anything like that, so those solutions are out too. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated! This doesn't seem like it would be a crazy thing to do, but I can't find any examples of people doing something like this. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks!

I faced a similar problem but have Shipstation integrated to pass through the shipping cost into a custom field. For what it's worth Shipstation is pretty cheap though it did require a third party integration for us as we don't have an on staff developer. It has been a helpful application for other features as well and at a low cost.
