Hey all, quick questions on how Inbount Shipments vs. Purchase Orders are typically managed on NetSuite, specifically on AFA: • How common is it to use Inbound Shipments instead of updating the Purchase Order due date to track On Order? • Would we expect the following fields on the Purchase Orders to be updated when Inbound Shipments are updated: ◦ Receive By ◦ Received Units • Lastly, is there a way to go from Purchase Order to the Inbound Shipments that contain that PO Thanks in advance!

Inbound Shipments are... insane. I have other words, but let's go with that. They're not transactions, not quite lists, but a weird hybrid placeholder record with valuable information. There's no way to link an Inbound Shipment to the PO. Well, you can read the 'solution' at #79543, but it's awful at best. I've tried a few things w/ inbound shipment saved searches and workbooks to get reports done, but without scripting, I don't think there's a good solution right now to do anything with the actual records.

Is that a SuiteAnswer ID? When I type it in it takes me here: https://netsuite.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/79543
Just wondering if there is another article to review, I'd be interested in seeing it.
FWIW, I did recently create my own custom field for the PO record that links to Inbound Shipments, using summary saved searches. Not sure if that's what the solution @Mark C references was also doing - but it only provides a clickable link for users, not an actual data link that can be used for searches/reports.

Thanks! And LOL their suggested workaround is to copy and paste the URL into the PO. Wow.
