Hi everyone, I am a bit new with ARM. I am trying to find out how to fill in the start and end dates on a credit memo. I mapped those dates in ARM for revenue recognition and it works perfectly on invoice, but credit memo is missing those fields completely. I tried to check in suiteanswers and I can see that theoretically there should be document period start and end dates, but I cant find them in the form. https://suiteanswers.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/96290/loc/en_US Thank you!

Have you create a field on the credit memo form?
n
not yet, it can be an option indeed, but I thought it would be logical if I credit an invoice with start/end date, credit memo would pick those dates up... otherwise, they have to be entered manually or via a workflow. In this case i am not sure if I can setup 2 different source fields to one target field for transaction in revenue field mapping. If I cant, then I need to use same custom field in invoice and credit note, which ideally I didnt want to as start/end date on the invoice can be automatically populated from billing account (SuiteBilling).

if you create a credit note from an invoice with a start and end date, then the credit memo will be assigned the same start and end date I just tested on an invoice and a credit note. However I advise you to make the start date and end date fields appear on your credit note form and check
n
yes, thats exactly my problem... I dont see any start/end date on the credit memo form
m
customize the form and expand all the subtab
search your custom line field start date / end date
n
I am trying to find it, but no luck 😞 I dont think it exists in my forms, I checked all teh subtabs and sublists
m
check in screen fields > Accounting
n
thank you for helping 🙂 I see only the rev.rec. dates, but those are legacy dates and they are not appearing on the invoice/credit memo.
m
to understand you have created custom transaction line fields Rev Rec Start Date and end date These fields must appear on the sale items ( invoice , credit memo...) Then you have to go to setup > accounting > revenue field mapping Once this is done, normally everything should appear on your transaction form
n
yes, but Rev Rec Start Date and end date are not my custom fields, its from ARM. How to do with custom fields I can figure out. I am more interested if those standard start/end dates can be on credit note as well or not:
the fields that you have seen on credit note - are those standard or also custom?
m
for me it's custom
n
ahhh... ok cool. Thank you! I will probably do custom as well then.
