Dear NetSuite community! Can anyone help out? 🙂 Case: A company sells software licenses and most of their products have a one-time fee in the beginning and then a recurring fee. The recurring fee should be able to be invoiced quarterly or monthly. The contract always runs for a minimum of one year. Until here we know that it works in NetSuite. But the crux is that when the contract starts mid-year that it will end the earliest at the end of the subsequent year. E.g., if a contract begins 01. April 2020, it has to be billed monthly/quarterly until the 31. December 2021. On a side note, the customer prefers to only use one and not two items for the one-time and recurring fee if possible. Also, SuiteBilling is not an option due to the customer´s budget. Feel free to forward. Any help / hint is appreciated. Thanks - Steven

If SuiteBilling is not an option, I think you have painted yourself into a corner with custom billing schedules to create this type of irregular billing. It can be onerous to use billing schedules, but it does give the ability to specify date/amount of each future invoice

agreed, a billing schedule with the number of months that need to be invoiced. if it needs to be quarters, and you have a partial quarter, then.. probably a very complicated custom billing schedule
