Has anyone tried to create or know where the monthly comparative sales (ideally Jan to Dec this year vs Jan to Dec last year)? I've tried trend graph, report snapshot and KPI scorecard but they can't show all the months next to each other. My next option is saved search or analytics but they don't look good. Maybe, I'm just missing something. It seems like a basic report requirement. The format I'm trying to accomplish is: Rows Jan Feb Mar Apr May ....and so on Columns Amount this year Amount last year Variance (if possible)

Have you tried customizing a comparative Income Statement and just retain a financial section for your income account were sales is posted? You can then select accounting periods in column.

Another way is the Sales By Customer Summary and an additional Revenue column. On that column, add your alternate date range.

I tried those too but they show the periods separately. Such as below: It's really weird that it's not available out of the box. 😥
