Hi All, Quick easy question. It’s time for me to update a sandbox account. I’ve never done this before, so I wanted to know if anyone could share wisdom on ‘what they wish they had done’ prior to updating or if it’s pretty simple.

When you say "update" do you just mean refresh? It's very simple. Literally just a couple button pushes. Things to watch out for: • Sounds like this is your first refresh, so not applicable here, but for subsequent refreshes you'd want to check with anyone with access to that environment that they've saved anything off that they're actively testing/working on so you don't remove their work • Some 3rd-party bundles (or NS ones for that matter) will just work automatically after refresh. Some will require some tweaking to work. Some I think won't work period. Something to consider if you're doing testing with non-NS stuff • If you have any integrations running, you'll have to reset the integration records and tokens after refresh • If you have a data warehouse pointed at your Sandbox data for whatever reason, you have to be a little careful on refresh because it could potentially cause a spike in usage

Refreshing Sandbox Accounts (SuiteAnswer ID 19469) and Requesting a Refresh (SuiteAnswer ID 51268) Should help also

@RJMNS This is gold. Thank you. First one but we have tons of bundles and integrations

@Chris, this post (by @sonnyspencer) can help as well: https://www.salto.io/blog-posts/netsuite-sandbox-refresh

That's a great article! Very thorough. Couple things I'd emphasize from that article @Chris that I forgot: • Timing is everything NetSuite production snapshot timing varies, but usually taken the night prior to the actual refresh request_. Am I certain that the NetSuite production environment has all data/configuration to be included in the refreshed sandbox?_ ◦ Translation from RJM: if by chance you're working on something in Prod that you want to ensure is in the refreshed data, give it an overnight because NS will often "back-date(time)" the snapshot. Meaning if you finish something in Prod at 4 pm, don't "push the button" to refresh at 415 because the snapshot it will take might be from say 10 am that day and so you miss the thing that you critically wanted. Waiting until the next morning after doing something you need in the refresh usually is pretty safe • Change color. Always – For some this might be obvious, but always change the color settings of your sandbox environment to differ from production. It is far too easy to forget which environment you are working in and risk making a change to the wrong environment.
