Has anyone ever created the Items to order reminder but edited it to show reminders per preferred vendor?

I'm not 100% familiar with the items to order reminder is that a native search? However, most likely it's just an Item search showing any item where the Location Back Ordered > 0. In this case you can get the Preferred Vendor from the item and use it as a column to group by
