Hi guys - We have a requirement in which a custom role is only allow to see vendor record where Category is XYZ. Is that possible?

Kind of - you have to build a saved search that has just that cateogry - and then you use the restrictions tab to restrict to the list results

It may not be a perfect solution - but worth a shot

Alternatively, you might be able to "return user error" if they try to submit records to non approved vendors with workflow or to view them. Wouldn't hide from saved search dumps though

Probably wouldn't hide vendor bills/transactions to other vendors from them - which you'd probably need to set that same restriction in place.
