can I use CASE WHEN inside of a mathmatical formula to pull a number. e.g. {itemordered}-(case when {onhand}>{backordered} then {onhand} ELSE 0 END)
s
Yeah I don't see why not, you can try doing in SuiteAnalytics; it validates formulas for you.
k
i tried it and got an invalid expression error
s
Ok it usually tells you what is wrong with your expression.
For example, this doesnt work bc wrong output type, change to float and it validates
k
sorry I am still pretty new to NS; is Suiteanalytics free?
how do I access it?
s
there's a tab at the top of netsuite called SuiteAnalytics
k
i see that now...duh haha
i dont know how to test a formula in it though like you did
s
Create a formula column (its at the top of the fields list), and then just hit Validate on it in the box
that New Formula button
