Can I have a saved search of parts on back order, that when the part is selected it would display the sales orders associated with that part?
e
Yes- you'd need to do a transaction search. Are you using multiple locations?/Would you want this search to show all items backordered in all locations?
(I'm about to hop on a call but I can help you out more after my call if no one else replies)
k
just one location
and that would be great!
a
@Kevin Cook you want to a main line false search, and show the document number. Filtering on an item would show any order that the item is included on
you can do a summary search too, the same way and still search by the lines
k
i think i tried something like that earlier and it was breaking my items
so instead of one line item per part it was multiple line items because they were on different sales rodesr
a
what does that mean?
if the item is backordered on 2 sales orders, don't you want to see two results?
k
no I want to see I need to order 2 items, then be able to click the item and disply the sales orders
or conctenate the sales orders onto a single line'
a
so you want to do a summary search and group on the item, so each item is one result
show the document number in the results, but don't include in the group
then when you click on an item, it would show you the details
you can put a count on the document number to tell you how many orders are in there
k
okay let me set this up and come back with details
i appreciate the help!
one thing instead of backorderd, can I change my criteria to be "where available is less than comitted"?
okay I have most of this set but am confused on waht you mean as summary search?
a
When you make a saved search, you can group by fields and use summary functions like SUM and MAX . See screen shot.
