hi, is there any way to view the history of a worklfows actions?

They appear on Transaction & Records. Adjacent to System Notes. There is a setting in the Workflow which determines the level of logging. Ps you can also do a Saved Search of system wide workflow statuses.

hmm maybe i should rephrase it. can i see a specific states system notes/history for a workflow?

I'm also curious about this. The system information of the workflow itself (not the record that the workflow runs on).

My misunderstanding, you are looking for a change log of changes made within the Workflow, not the execution of the Workflow. Best I can suggest there is a Search of System Notes, Record Type = Workflow which will give you the time/date of Revisions by whom but it doesn't show you the context of the change or which State. Maybe someone else will chip in.
