Any saved search expert here with the use of applied to/applying transactions? I read the quick reference guide and tried to created a search on Deposit application showing the customer deposit reference (applied to) and the applying Invoice reference - been failing to get all the info i need. Is it just not possible to get both data into a search?
n
certainly possible. what columns do you want in the results?
k
basically the document number of the Deposit application, the Customer deposit it came from, and the invoice reference the DA is applying to
oh my i've been failing to get both data and i didn't think it was actually possible!
date, document number and amount*
n
I would start with this: Criteria : Type = Invoice Mainline = True
Results:
Document Number        Applying Transaction : Document Number        Applying Transaction : Type
Applying Transaction : Amount
k
i tried with invoice, and i couldn't get the customer deposit data
n
So you will start with this:
k
yup got that!
n
now, what do we need to add?
k
okay, now I want to see the customer deposit reference
message has been deleted
the CD reference, and the CD total amount if possible
n
I'm looking for an account with that specific record type.
k
hmm it could be hitting either the bank account or the undeposited funds account
n
can you give me the part of the URL that looks like this : deposit.nl
k
/accounting/transactions/custdep.nl?id=44748

I don't have many transactions in the dev account:
Results tab: Date          Document Number          Applied To Transaction : Document Number          Applied To Transaction : Amount          Applied To Transaction : Date
Criteria FILTER DESCRIPTION FORMULA Main Line is true  Type is Customer Deposit
k
hmm is this a separate search?
i don't think Applied To Transaction on the invoice search would get to the customer deposit
n
i used the same search but I have changed the Type to Customer Deposit
k
gotcha!
n
With this you change the transaction from which you start, so that you can go one join in either direction
k
hmm i'm only getting CDs being applied to sales orders
not info for Deposit Application or Invoice

Here are the Results I used:

k
you did it!!
n
Criteria Type = Invoice
message has been deleted
you can now add the additional fields you need by working on each of the joins.

while i still have you here, do you know of any sites for learning the netsuite statements ?
n
Statements as in search terms?
k
yes i'm trying to create some reconciliations in there!
n
Saved search formula use Oracle SQL statements. you will find lots of examples in SuiteAnswers and the Netsuite forum https://community.oracle.com/netsuite/categories/reporting

@Netsuite Tragic do I need to use the same email as in my netsuite account? Coz I tried joining that but using personal email. It allowed me to register but cannot go to the community forum.
k
I used the same email with our NetSuite account number to register. I think you need to wait for them to approve it (I still haven't received it)
n
@Mars I use different email they will approve it in time.
