Hi All, To create new items you must add some accounts. This is only possible if a role as access to 'view' accounts, But this then means that this users can view all accounts such as bank accounts and view amounts etc. Is there a workaround for this?

You don’t need to add new accounts to make items. Are you just saying that’s part of your process ?

Hi @Rob Cady no by 'add account' i mean that you need to select for example 'income account' for the item

here is that role making a new item

so indeed we give the 'accounts' permission and users can go to lists > permissions > accounts and see the bank balances

I see, yes I would remove the accounts permission it's not needed

upon removal of the accounts permission the fields are not available for the role anymore. i have tried adding accounts payable/receiveble to maybe if this was neccesary but also not working.

I dont know if it matters, but that was executive center role

what permissions do you have configured under setup tab?

@Rob Cady to reduce the decision making by users, you can also set the default item accounts while you are at setup > accounting preferences > item.
