I would like the field id to show in the field level help for a role and dont know the permission to set up. Can anyone help??

Isn't that just the personal preference for show internal IDs?

also there is very hand Chrome plugin which can show this number just with mouse hover over that field, even more, it is able to copy that id to clipboard using ctrl-click on that field.
