Any speakers here that can answer me a quick question: If I want to submit a development focused talk (that has nothing todo with the product my company develops) do I still need a customer as sponsor (since my company is a Partner)?
c
That's how its always been in the past suiteworlds. They really keep back the dev community at these things.
f
Hmm to bad. I was hoping to submit a talk about using React and/or Svelte inside Netsuite 😄
Oh and one more question if a customer "sponsors" that? They just have to say they want us to "represent" them for that talk? or do they have to pay something?
c
As far as I know its like a voucher that you did something for them that you're giving a talk on... @Sam-I-Am would know for sure. I don't believe it costs anything than a ticket to present as long as you're approved. They may even give you a ticket now.

@fkrauthan are you still at Fi-Span? To present all you need is to be tied to a customer or partner. My last presentations was nothing to do with my current employer - it was about Suitecloud - lowcode/Nocode development. You get a free ticket to attend the Suiteworld.
f
yep still at FISPAN
Ok so I just need one of our customers to be willing to attest to Netsuite that they use our product to submit my talk? And there is no cost to the client todo that?
s
yup nada
you can speak as a partner too
f
Hmm but the guide explicit says that as partner you need a customer
s
thats a bummer
f
Well should be fine to find a customer 😄 Still waiting for internal approval first
s
hopefully see you there

Strange seems like Netsuite does not want dev related talks this is what I got back from them:
Partners are only eligible to submit session proposals as part of their sponsorship at SuiteWorld. You can submit on behalf of a customer, but that customer must be the speaker.
so unless FISPAN pays for sponsorship we can't do a talk regardless of topic
