Hello, Does anyone know of a way to notify someone when a file is added to a record on the Communications subtab, we use Inbound Shipments and when our purchasing team adds a bill to an Inbound Shipment the AP person would like to know. I know you can create a saved search to notify when a file is added to the folder in the file cabinet, but the file name does not indicate which Inbound Shipment the file was added to.

Can you provide a sample? I think you mean, observe new MESSAGES on a transaction?

Below is a screen shot of what I am asking about, I found a way to create a saved search that when a file is added to the Inbound Shipment folder in the File Cabinet via the Drag and Drop, it will send an email to the AP person, but they still have no idea which Inbound Shipment the file was added to, and at times we can have up to 50+ open Inbound Shipments.

Off top of my head if i understand your case correctly. Workflow. If anyone has further ideas to improve/correct by all means please. From my understanding for example, you'll be able to reference the shipment number id in the email subject template of the email template in a workflow. You set the saved search filter to that saved search you created. Hope it guides you in the right direction.

@Todd Juenemann I had checked this... You can query in results attachments on TRANSACTION type searches, but not on Inbound Shipment type searches.
Ergo, I don't think it's immediately doable.

Created a saved search to look at when a file is added to the folder in the file cabinet, which then gets emailed to the AP person

Good idea, I was trying to take on the transaction saved search route.
