Is it possible to return only the Top 10 (or so) results on a saved search without checking the Run Unrestricted box? Rank and Dense Rank SQL formulas work on Results subtab but not on Criteria subtab. Am I missing something?

yeah you can use @michoel, you can set yung filtering descending ascending order to achieve your goal. Then create a formula(number) set value to 10
