is there a way I can create an email notification every time a specific item is ordered?

You could set up a saved search to do that.  Probably could also set a workflow on transactions that checks the lines for that item.  You could definitely do it with suitescript as well.

Saved search will be the easiest one to do, use the *on create* as the email trigger

Workflows can definitely do this - but I'm going to ask the same question I ask every time someone asks for an email - are the people you are emailing without access to NetSuite? if not - why do you need an email? They could set up a reminder.

I was thinking workflow, but saved search sounds easier to do.. i'll look into both methods, thank you again
