Yeah this is what I'm planning to do anyway. I was hoping that it's native in NS but maybe not 'cause I couldn't find anything.

if its a transaction you should be able to determine the date created and how it was created too with a saved search

, hoping I can catch you before you start. Rather than doing a search for each record type, you can do a "System Notes" saved search. Systems notes are, in their own way, a record type in and of themselves

! Forgot about the saved search on System Notes. But I don't think it is possible to have an Available Filter for specific transactions like JE, Bill Payment, etc. Anw, a Set By and Create fields, etc. should work.
