Sorting out budgets for the new year and had a new request, to budget at item level by quantity. I can see the budget option for item but for Revenue only (unless i'm looking in the wrong place). Does anyone know of a way to add a quantity value as well? Or have a workaround they use? Ex: Product A - budget sales £1000 Qty 100.

Nope. Budgets (at least the base budgeting module in NS) is all dollar/currency based. I don't think quantity would end up being that straightforward even if you could get it because of returns, credits, etc. Basically, you probably want to be looking at total revenue/sales and your item gross margin rather than quantity sold anyway. I'd go back to said person and ask them why they're trying to budget on quantity. There's probably other metrics that would be better suited to getting them to the real thing they're trying to understand.

Thank you @James Morris, I'm glad I'm not missing something! Part of the aim is around accuracy of forecasting unit sales and hitting targets of units sold. If there are particular metrics/recommended ways of tracking this that you're aware of I'd appreciate the help 🙂

I don't know that I can give you a lot of advice knowing nothing about your business, but units sold targets sounds more like commissions than budgeting. That's usually where I see those kind of things anyways.
