Formula fields changes based on where you are looking at it from - and it often includes "bad" references that can't be accessed from your particular search

In theory itemunitprice should be rate, I imagine

Remember this is in the custom field Default Value field, not a search

There are some things out there that let you see the internal IDs of fields that are currently on the screen

Plugins that read the XML from your NetSuite instance.

I tried xml=T and that seems to give field names that work in formulae. (That's where some of the browser plugins you refer to get their data.)

Yeah, i have seen chrome extensions for NetSuite

I was lectured for the security risk they present - so I don't really use them

Certain level of trust letting a plugin read everything on your screen

Likewise. I have them installed in Chrome but configured so that they are disabled until I click on them. That way they can steal my data only when I let them

Even if I trust the extension developer now, they may go rogue one day or sell their extension to someone naughty or be hacked

I use the chrome extension source viewer extension for the initial review of an extension. Then I just change the update url on that extension to localhost. Still trusting Rob I guess tho
